The Problem
After meeting with community leaders we found fear in the minority market segments about healthcare, the fear adds to the confusion for finding better care. Some of the questions were, "who to go to" and "how quickly can a physician can see me." Many times their first choice is the emergency room. Many of these patients also had more than one chronic disease and needed continual health assessment by their Primary Care Physician. We needed to combat this perception and instill confidence in Equality Health and the mobile app can be the trusted source for healthcare places, information and services.
The Solution
This mobile application will allow patients who have a smartphone to utilize the healthcare medicaid and insurance system(s) in Arizona more effectively. It will enable them to interact with trained healthcare professionals who will guide them to the best place to get the services their specific situation requires. It will empower women 23 – 54 years old to better care for members of their families who need medical attention. It should help alleviate some of the overcrowding in area emergency rooms.
